Search Dogs for the Bangladeshi Army
Search Dogs UK have been proud to supply government agencies in Bangladesh with security and detection dogs. Our relationship with the agencies started in 2013 and continues to grow.
Search in Russia for the Grand Duke Mikhail Romanov
Search Dogs UK are actively involved in the search for the Grand Duke Mikhail Romanov and his British Secretary Bran Johnson who were killed in 1918. The search in the Perm region of Russia continues.
Cadaver Search in Ireland
Search Dogs UK have been the sole provider of cadaver search dogs to the Independent Commission for the Location of Victim Remains established as part of the Good Friday Agreement 1998.
Water Search Dog Training
In 1996, whilst a serving Police Officer, Mick Swindells was awarded the Home Office Research Award to study using dogs to detect submerged bodies. This was the FIRST TIME this discipline had been studied in the UK. Since then Mick has continued to train this type of dog in the UK for various police forces and around the world for foreign government agencies.
Forensic Marker Search Dogs
This is another “FIRST” for Search Dogs UK. We are able to claim that Search Dogs UK are the first IN THE WORLD to train a dog to detect Forensic Markers. Other Police Forces are now following suit.
Bat Detection Images
Here are a few images of the dogs used to detect dead bats and state of the bats they find. These dogs were trained as part of the National Bats and Wind Turbine Project commissioned by Exeter University.
Forensic Search & Cadaver Search
Most police forces now have their own Forensic Detection Dogs. These dogs are usually trained to detect minute samples of blood and semen at crime scenes. Search Dogs UK continue to be a working partner with these police forces.
